Two New yVaults Deployed
We are pleased to announce the launch of two new yVaults: GUSD/3Crv and mUSD/3Crv. These vaults accept liquidity provider (LP) tokens from the GUSD/3Crv and mUSD/3Crv pools on Curve.fi. LP tokens are deposited in the liquidity gauge on Curve.fi and earn CRV, which is periodically sold and deposited back into the corresponding pool on Curve.fi. Vault depositors have rights to these profits.
These yVaults are now live on our vaults homepage that you can access here.
Launch of the ytVault Registry
We are in the process of testing several v2 yVaults, however, v2 yVaults have not officially launched and the code is still under audit. These preliminary v2 yVaults are experimental and will likely be discontinued when v2 yVaults formally launch. We urge users to understand the risks associated with these vaults and use extreme caution. We are not responsible for loss of user funds related to unforeseen bugs or events.
However, a UI has been launched that compiles all experimental vaults in one place, which you can access here.
New Proposal to Create the ASSY Index
A new proposal on the PowerIndex governance forum has been created that would launch the “ASSY” index. This index would consist of AAVE, SNX, SUSHI, & YFI tokens. “ASSY” differs from other PowerIndex indices in that it would consist of the staked versions of these tokens (e.g., stkAAVE, xSUSHI, yYFI, SNX in Mintr).
You can view the discussion related to this proposal here.
Yearn Founder Andre Cronje Named DeFi Person of the Year
DeFiPrime.com has named Yearn founder the DeFi Person of the Year. Andre founded Yearn Finance at the start of 2020, and created the first generation yTokens. These tokens (yDAI, yUSDC, yUSDT, etc.) programmatically obtain the most optimal interest rates by switching deposits between AAVE, Compound, and dYdX with no action by the end user. The 2nd generation of these tokens eventually formed the foundation of the yPool on Curve.Fi. In July 2020, the Yearn governance token (YFI) was launched to govern the Yearn Finance ecosystem. This fair launch liquidity mining event ignited the yield-farming craze that consumed much of DeFi. Numerous projects have now emerged building upon the foundation formed by the Yearn Finance ecosystem.
